Pilot 590 Tube Preamplifier AM/FM Tuner gently removed from a vintage console. This unit works in everything but the multiplex position. It does AM/FM and speaker system A and B. The other inputs are live also. As stated, it does work in FM but not in the multiplex position. Both tuning eyes illuminate along with dial lamps. Balance and tone controls also perform their functions along with both AM and FM tuning controls. As far as cosmetics it has a few small imperfections here and there, but nothing obnoxious considering age and use. The chassis can be cleaned, I tested a little Spray Nine cleaner on one small area, and it comes totally shiny silver. I won't use aggressive cleaners on this unit, the lettering is intact, and I want it to stay that way. Cleaning and detailing are up to you, I just did one small spot for testing. The face plate is loose because it was mounted to the wooden console. I am including the four original brass wood screws that fit the outer face plate perfectly. This unit even has its AM antenna still intact. I will remove the two screws that hold it to the chassis when shipping to prevent damage. All knobs and switches are intact along with lettering / graphics. Due to age and a long period of non-use this pre-amp/tuner is offered for restoration and sold as is. I believe this piece is around 60 years old, although it works as stated, it will need a full restoration before extended use. Please base your bid on the auction photos.
